Reference real research

Pull in summarized context, cross-references, and linked source material from public-domain commentaries and other research data.

Use a full study dashboard

Rearrange, modify, delete, and regenerate questions, then save the study to your library and export it for teaching or group use.

Complete workflow

From passage work to studies ready to lead.

Start with a Scripture reference, then shape the generated material through research notes, question editing, saved studies, and a PDF export ready for distribution.

Assisted preparation

The tools assist. The leader still leads.

BereanLab harnesses capable AI models and research tools, but it is not built to remove the pastor, elder, or study leader from the work. Only you know your group: where they are, what they need, and which questions will help them respond carefully to the Word of God.

The system generates, gathers, organizes, and exports. You weigh the material, refine the questions, shape the emphasis, and lead the study.

Prepare, refine, save, and export from one workspace.

Builder workspace

Generate strong questions, then make the study yours.

BereanLab produces a substantial question set for the passage, brings supporting research into view, and gives you a builder where every question and note can be reordered, rewritten, regenerated, or removed before export.

The final study is not a chat transcript. It is saved in your workspace and can be exported as a PDF ready to send to a group or use as leader notes.

Dashboard editor

The dashboard keeps each study editable. Rearrange questions, rewrite notes, delete weak material, regenerate sections, and keep the final version in a reusable library.

Research sources

Generated studies can reference summarized material from reliable public-domain commentaries and related research data, with links back to sources where available.

FAQ

Questions before you join?

A few practical details about what BereanLab generates, where the research comes from, and how much control you keep before anything is saved or exported.

What happens after I enter a passage?+

BereanLab turns the passage into a complete working study: a clear teaching aim, researched context, discussion flow, editable questions, leader notes, and application paths ready to refine for your group.

Where does the research fit in?+

The generation process gathers supporting material around the passage, including public-domain commentary material and other research data our system collects, summarizes, and links back to where possible. The goal is to give leaders traceable material to weigh and shape.

Is this just an AI wrapper I could replace with ChatGPT?+

No. BereanLab uses multiple AI models in different loops, along with research, extraction, summarization, and linking tools, to build a study from more than a single prompt. I would also caution against relying on a single AI chat response for Bible study preparation, because it leans heavily on the model's own training and biases. The point is not to copy and paste AI material into a study. BereanLab gives you structured, research-supported material to weigh, edit, and shape before you lead.

What can I do in the dashboard and editor?+

Each generated study opens in a working dashboard. Questions can be rearranged, rewritten, deleted, and regenerated. Research notes and source summaries sit alongside the study so you can consult them while shaping the final material before it is saved or exported.

Does BereanLab push a particular theological tradition?+

BereanLab is built to draw people into the text of Scripture: observe carefully, interpret responsibly, and apply faithfully. The questions are not meant to do denominational work for you. When research sources are drawn in and made available, Protestant sources of a conservative bent are prioritized. If you want to study the Bible with care, this tool is for you.

Who is BereanLab built for?+

It is built for pastors, elders, home-group leaders, Bible study leaders, and Christians preparing discipleship material who want a faster path from passage work to a usable study.

From the founder

Built first for week-to-week church life.

BereanLab began as an internal tool for preparing Bible studies in the ordinary rhythm of church life. Once it became useful for that work, it seemed worth sharing as a low-cost way for other leaders to prepare faithful material week by week.

We have remarkable technology available to us, but it needs to be used wisely. BereanLab makes use of capable research and generation tools while keeping the pastor, elder, or study leader responsible for shaping the final study. What gets exported should still be material you have prepared, reviewed, and are ready to lead.

"...they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so."
